Small Groups at CCB
Christ Church offers two kinds of small groups, primarily: discipleship groups and home groups.
Discipleship Groups
And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matt 4:19)
Discipleship is an organic combination of the above call. It involves imitating Jesus (“follow me”), being transformed by him (“I will make you …”), and taking up his mission as our own (“fishers of men”).
Discipleship Groups (DGs) are designed to help facilitate this journey. DGs are gender-specific groups of 5 or 6 that commit to study God’s word and truth, pursue spiritual disciplines, encourage one another, and spur one another on toward love and good works.
Discipleship Groups are year-long commitments, with signups occurring every summer before launching in mid-September. If you are reading this in the fall, winter, or spring, contact pastor Matt at the link below for help getting connected in other ways.
Home Groups
“And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:46–47)
The Bible offers a beautiful vision of the magnetic power of godly fellowship and hospitality. As the early church committed themselves to sharing meals, discussing the word, and praying communally, the Lord grew his church.
Home Groups are designed to be an extension of Sunday morning worship, with an emphasis on fellowship and community. These groups meet mid-September through May, and often socialize some over the summer. Signups typically happen in the summer, but mid-year entry is often an option.
